This collection honors President Abraham Lincoln with 3 different designs featured in the popular U.S. coin series that bear his image. Lincoln became the first President to be depicted on a circulating coin with the introduction of the Lincoln Cent on the 100th anniversary of his birth in 1909.

The reverse of the original Lincoln cent issued from 1909 to 1958 depicted two wheat stalks, giving rise to its common name, the “wheat penny.” The wheat reverse design was later replaced in 1959 with the Lincoln Memorial to celebrate Lincoln’s 150th birthday. Since 2010, the reverse has featured a new depiction of the Union Shield, emblematic of President Lincoln's preservation of the United States as a single and unified country. Production of the Lincoln cent continues to this day, making it the longest running coin design in U.S. history.

The set offered here features the three different Lincoln cent designs spanning a 100-year period of American history. Each individual coin is housed in an airtight capsule. The set is presented in a luxurious, plush-lined wood box with embossed metallic gold lettering, piano-black finish, and certificate of authenticity.
