Established in 1823, Mortlach was the first legal distillery in Dufftown—the epicenter of whisky production in Speyside. Their intricate 2.81 distillation process was created by Alexander Cowie nearly 200 years ago, and remains unchanged to this day. Solely used at Mortlach distillery, this unique technique results in the thick, rich, bold spirit character that Mortlach is famed for.

A selection of Mortlach's very best single malt has been matured for a minimum of 20 years to tame “The Beast of Dufftown” into smooth submission and mellow complexity. The 20 Year Single Malt Scotch is a whisky that would have made the great Alexander Cowie proud.

Tasting Notes
— Appearance: Old copper
— Body: Robust and rich; palate clinging
— Nose: Dense, elegant, & intriguing; Dried fruit, cedarwood, leather, and tobacco
— Palate: Robust palate with a coating of oiliness; aromatic citrus; hints of wood spice opening into a dark, meatiness of barbecue pork crackling. Berries, jam, & cocoa nibs add brightness
— Finish: Deep and complex, with gingerbread, raisin, and a hint of licorice

Serving Suggestion: Neat or with a few drops of water to reveal layers of flavor.
