2004 A STAR $ 20 Federal Reserve Richmond PCGS 64 PPQ
Product Description
Being offered today is a 2004 A STAR $20.00 Federal Reserve note from the Richmond BEP. The STAR signifies a “replacement note”.
STAR Notes are far more valuable than a regular printed note and much more collectable!
When The Bureau of Engraving and Printing or BEP prints a sheet of notes and they are damaged in any way, the notes must be destroyed. By law, they need to print notes bearing the damaged serial numbers. When they print the new notes, they must bear a STAR in front of the serial number. This designates the note as a “replacement note”.
The note is graded by PCGS in 64 PPQ (Premium Paper Quality) Very Choice new. The note is from the “E” Bureau of Engraving and printing office which is located in Richmond, Virginia. The serial number starts with the letter E, which stands for Richmond.
It is extremely rare to find STAR notes in this grade and condition. The note is centered very well, and the ink just pops off the note. The colors are bright and bold. The note has fantastic eye appeal. The note shows no sign of wear on the corners or the sides. All the corners and edges of the note are crisp and clean. There are no pinholes, rips, stains, or tears.
This note will be an excellent addition to anyone’s collection.
