1934 $ 1 Silver Certificate Choice Uncirculated
Product Description
Being offered today is a very crisp perfect Choice Uncirculated (CU) 1934 $1.00 Silver Certificate note. The back of the note is called a “Funny Back” as it looks like monopoly money.
The paper and printing is very solid on the note. You can actually see the printing on the other side of the note in the pictures.
An interesting fact is that prior to 1968, you could exchange a $ 1 Silver Certificate for a silver dollar. This changed as a silver dollar was worth more in bullion value than a dollar. So the Treasury Department was losing money every time someone would exchange their Silver Certificates.
The 1934 $1 dollar Silver Certificate series was only printed for this ONE YEAR!
The 1934 Silver Certificate is designated by the larger Blue Seal on the right center of the note. It has “ONE” surrounding the Blue Seal. It also has a much larger “1” with blue ink on the left side of the note as compared to the later 1935 and 1957 Silver Certificate series.
It also has “Silver Certificate” on the top center of the note. The Blue Seal was moved from the left side of the 1928 $ 1 Silver Certificate series to the right side of the note starting with the 1934 $ 1 Silver Certificate series.
The color just pops off the note. The margins are centered very well, and the ink just pops off the note. The colors are bright and bold. The vibrant colors and well-preserved paper add to its visual eye appeal. The note has fantastic eye appeal. The note shows no sign of wear on the corners or the sides. All of the corners and edges of the note are crisp and clean. There are no pinholes, rips, stains, or tears.
