1899 Error $ 1 Silver Certificate "Black Eagle" Note # 932
Product Description
Being offered today is a RARE ERROR 1899 $ 1 SIVER CERTIFICATE or “Black Eagle” as it’s known in the large size currency series. The note has two printing errors on it. Both of the serial numbers have inking issues. This occurred when the notes were being cut and the ink wasn’t dried yet. This note should have never passed inspection from the Bureau of Engraving and Printing and been allowed to be in circulation.
The note is in CHOICE UNCIRCULATED condition. The note has the date of 1899 to “the right side of the note”. If you look to the right side of the blue seal, you will see that the date is on the side of the note. That is why this note is called a “Date Right” Black Eagle Silver Certificate.
This note has tremendous eye appeal. deep embossing, and perfect centering. The paper is bright with bold inking. It has sharp edges and corners. The Silver Certificate note is identified by the number ”1” on the left side of the note, and the “Blue Seal” or “Poker Chip” as it’s known, on the right side of the note.
The note shows no sign of wear on the corners or the sides. All of the corners and edges of the note are crisp and clean. There are no pinholes, rips, stains, or tears. The note is encased in a long-term preservation holder. The holder is made to enhance the presentation of the encapsulated note and protects against counterfeiting and tampering.
The note pictured is the note you will receive. If you take a look at the pictures, it will show red and blue fibers in the note. This was another way that the Bureau of Engraving and Printing prevented these notes from being counterfeited.
