Product Description

An antique Late Medieval bronze and iron bullet mold, circa late 1700's – early 1800's AD. One half of a bronze mold which would clamp together on an iron hinge, into which molten lead would have been poured. A fragment of the iron hinge still intact, which is quite rare. The pins on the flat bronze surface would fit into recesses in the other half, securing it for a tight seal. Measures 1 1/8" x 15/16", and nicely preserved. Mounted in archival magnetic frame (frame measures 4” x 4”). Ex Los Angeles, CA private antiquities collection.
